Carpet Cleaning FAQs

1. How long will it take to dry?

Dry time varies with room heat and relative humidity. Obviously, drying time will be much less on a 100 degree day with the doors and windows open verses a cold rainy day without heat and ventilation.

2. When is the best time of the year to clean?

Many people think that the heat of summer is the best because the hot dry weather will dry the carpets quicker. Yes that is true, but the cold of winter is also good because your heat is on, thus the relative humidity in your house is quite low. This gives an extremely short dry time.

3. Do we (customer) need to move furniture?

We will move and clean under a reasonable amount of furniture. We do not move beds, dressers, desks, pianos, book cases, etc. We will move light sofas, recliners, small tables, etc. Usually customers only want traffic areas cleaned with the big heavy items in place. This way, you pay less.

urine stain removal4. Can animal urine be removed?

Yes, it can be removed. But just steam cleaning using hot water and detergent will not remove urine. This requires special chemistry developed to loosen the sticky gummy urine residue from the fibers. Remember, odor control requires removing the source of the odor. Just applying a perfume fools you the customer into thinking the urine is gone, but it isn't.

5. Should we use a fabric protector?

We use DuPont Teflon as our protector of choice. It really does protect the carpet from permanent soiling and premature wear. Teflon does not keep the carpet from getting soiled, it makes it easier for the customer and professional cleaner to clean.

6. What steps are taken by the technician?

7. How much does it cost?

We charge by the square foot of the carpet to be cleaned. You know the final price prior to starting work.
